Welcome!

Rey here! Made this community in case people wanted a place to work out plots or notify people if life's got them in a stranglehold. I'm new to modding on Dreamwidth, so if something's weird do tell me.

In this entry you can write a bit about yourselves, maybe your history with Sailor Moon or what situations you'd like to play out with your character(s).

Welcome!

Yep, I'm the mod. I mostly play 9 and may bring in Souichi ([personal profile] hotarue) to be a broken powerless human who wants little to do with mundane life now and holds no value for his own.

Plot-wise, any form or time 9 is in she'll hate these space portals/distortions/tears/holes and work with whomever she has to to find and destroy the source. On the way she'll probably go after heart crystals and other such power sources, so drama there.

I can play 9 as either the Shadow of Silence or awakened. Canon will likely be twisted to allow for things for happen (9 being able to warp space as the SOS so she's not glued to the throne), so...yeah, those are the basics. Hi!

I am Jaydee, I play Joan, who's essentially a genderbent senshi AU of the Master Chief, explained in a looong story on her journal page, but long story short: It's megucas instead of space marines.

I made her a villain at the moment, more of a huntress of insurrectionists and other senshi to depower them or reincarnate them towards their cause, though she'll have second thoughts about it. After a few threads, I admit I am planning to turn her into a heroine, especially when she learns of the Covenant.

So far I don't know who else to bring over, although the teacher from the manga could be a fun choice.

I'm not familiar with the Halo franchise. What made you decide to AU a senshi from it?

It began as a joke, as a transformation I inflicted onto the Master Chief on a pair of PSLs with a bent into magical girls and sailor senshi stuff, but I came to like it as the Master Chief kept his stoicism and determination to do what is correct, and it melded really well with Sailor Moon's themes. Basically, Usagi's idealism, but with his stoicism.

I am rather deep into Halo, so after reading the Forerunner Trilogy, the new lore of humans having ancient genes hidden on them that enables them to use ancient tech, and learning of the Prehistoric Human Empire; and of Sailor Moon lore in general regarding the Silver Millennium, the use of Guardian Consciousnesses and skirts being treated as light powered armor of sorts, and the similarities with Halo in regards to past advanced supercivilizations that met their apocalypse, I treaded with the idea of the senshi having the same origin.

In short... a joke character that I ended up treating seriously, and whom I liked to write for a lot.

Hmm, I don't think much of what canons could meld into each other, but from what you wrote, yeah, definite connection points. Not to mention weapon/armor abilities make OC senshi powers a cinch...was the Prehistoric Human Empire a tech-advanced civilization or something?

Yeah. Long story short, crystal spires and space togas level of tech, although it didn't make the humans nor their enemies any less warmongering.

The Forerunner trilogy and Offensive Bias logs show an insane era. Mechs that dwarf Gundam Wing in power, infantry that fights more like Dragon Ball Z characters, and fleets numbering the billions; all against H.P. Lovecraft's Elder Gods.

[eyes Crystal Tokyo] Crystal spires, you say? That all does seem impressively extreme...I think I'll look up the mech and infantry fight stuff - always up for ridiculous powers.

On the side of mechs you have The War Sphinxes which were introduced in the Forerunner trilogy, and are part of the most anticipated vehicles on the book part of the fandom, as they had the power to decimate whole city-wide continents by themselves -- all while employed in massive numbers!

Infantry on the Forerunner era is treated as disappointingly mundane, though. Most of the awesome stuff comes from Greg Bear's Forerunner trilogy, which I thoroughly recommend. As for stuff more in the current Halo era, Spartans themselves are a rather awesome lot, and for it I'd recommend Eric Nylund's The Fall of Reach.

Of course this all had the potential to be tuned into a setting for magical girls!

Classified as midsize fighting suits
Length:20 meters (65 ft 7 in)
Height:10 meters (32 ft 10 in)

Do they say it's midsized so their enemies collapse in imagining more ridiculous horrors?

Well, I am getting to the end of my current book. Says it's a prequel, so...maybe not too much of a stretch to walk in blind on?

Yep! If massively toned down. I recently laughed at a moment in Sailor Moon Classic where Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto combine attacks and it barely takes out a foot of concrete and a railing.

Forerunner canon is insane. Piloting their vehicles, even the titular Halo ring megastructure, is akin to piloting an Eva from Evangelion.

If you wish to get into Halo lore, Halo: Cryptum and The Fall of Reach by Eric Nylund are good places to start and require no previous knowledge of canon, and they're really good reads.

And... there are still things such as Jupiter holding her friends' hands and leaping them onto the top of a building in the manga which is a tad bit out there, and Usagi resurrecting everyone to fix things, which... I admit, is a bit tough to adapt on this Halo/Sailor Moon AU lore.

Wrote 'em down, will commence search on current book completion.

Ha ha, yeah. Well, if it meshed perfectly that'd be suspicious. Guess there can always be a new form of energy nonsense.
